Gentlemen, Tomorrow I have two appointments and I am hoping that they take this drain tube out. I can't sit too long in front of the computer as it bothers my back. I'll let you guys know in a day or two.

Up date gentlemen. No they did not remove the drain. I go tomorrow Fri. 11 for a cat scan to see what residual effect of the infection that is still there. I then go back to the the hospital I spent a week at Wed 16 and then they will review and make a decision to remove then. I am hoping.

Do they have any idea yet about the cause of this condition...? and thus effective treatment? I'm surprised that they didn't send you to the liver guy right away....
prayers ..... for you your family and the doctors...for some needed inspiration in your behalf.

Well as I stated before I see the liver specialist Wed. 23rd. The Doc has already put in an order to increase the size of the pipe. Yep they take out what is in now and got to a larger size as the drainage will be increased. they do this on this Fri. as it stands now.

Gentlemen,
Greg as to an answer to what caused this they have not a clue even after testing the stuff that drained my blood an even my stools.
Now tomorrow I get new adventures in pain with the larger pipe. In about a month I am to see a vascular surgeon as with the last cat-scan they found an aneurysm. So that will be my next chapter to see what unfolds.

Well saw the vascular surgeon today. Good and bad news. The bad is that I have two aneurysms the AAA and the other the iliac. The good news is that they are small and for now just need to be monitored. Don't see this person again til next year. Now this Thur. camera up my butt. Fun

Up Periscope. Don't worry, they'll be waking you up before you realize you took a nap. I'm glad to hear that the aneurysms are small. Wishing you the best Hacker.

Colonoscopies are not so bad.......I slept through my last one (the sedatives are strong! thank you!)......sitting on the pot, drinking a gallon of liquid to clean out, in preparation, was the less stellar part of the experience.
But I've been through worse................waking up after a double bypass heart surgery comes to mind. I suggest you do ANYTHING to prevent that one. I'd much rather be "tubed" from the bottom than from the top!! down the throat and through the chest...tubes everywhere.
Best wishes to you, Gary, keep the faith!

Gentlemen,
With almost tears of joy today 07-16-18 at just before 8:00AM they took out the drain. I had a cat scan this past Fri. and found no fluid that needed to be drained. It would have been out that day but miss communication on my and their part. I left before the results were done. They called me about 20 min. after I got home and they wanted me to come back but I was expecting phone calls so so we did today. It is so so nice not carrying around that extra baggage.

Hacker, in line with the other recent thread about living backward, would it be appropriate to think of this as a step back ? You must still be wondering where that thing is ! Keep on keepin' on !

Gentlemen,
Yesterday 07-26-18 I went to see a doctor with "Infectious Disease" on my situation. Well he liked my progress and healing. He did not get to see any transcripts of my condition even though this hospital was supposed to have received them. He like my healing that much as I don't have to see him again unless I have a problem then I call him. I asked him what he might thought as to the cause. He explained that we all have what he called in simple terms a "gut bug" that we all have this. I have read where we have certain bacteria and it is normal but can cause problems. He thinks in my case that some how this bug got into my liver and blossomed from there but then again not certain. He was going on a theory. so again no concrete answer as to what and how this happened. so next month another cat-scan then see the general surgery doctor.
