My middle grandson is getting to be quite the marksman. He's a freshman/9th grade in high school and is involved with the JROTC program. He is on the rifle team and qualified for his first match to compete against another school. Now that school only had four shooting lanes and if I understand him correctly he was one of four to qualify. He has earned the marksmanship medal and again if I follow him correctly he is the only one so far that wears the shooting medal and that includes upper classman The rifle he uses has been issued to him so he's responsible for it. They use air rifles in the .177 pellet similar to this www.crosman.com/product/crosman-challenger-177-with-sights

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Thank you gentlemen. Yes I am sure proud of him. He also has earned two shoulder braids one for Honor Roll the other for marksmanship, I'll have to ask him as to what each represents.

Keep it up.....we need more kids to learn life well! Too bad he's not in my neighborhood. We could use a dead eye with a pellet gun right now. We have a skunk problem and the city won't do anything about it.

I asked my granson on those shoulder braids. The blue isfor making Honor Roll" and the yellowish one is for marksmanship. Their next competition is Nov. 23 as it stands right now.

Congratulations Grandpa! Good times. Apologize for stealing the thread. GWS. Scrounge around for CCI 22 CB or Long CB. Will probably need a sight adjustment. Head shots are DRT. My neighbors don't hear a thing. If you can back up enough and shoot with the muzzle inside, open door way, open window, from under a porch or deck, there will be even less noise. One shot only. Humans are alerted by the first shot, and listen for the second to verify. Wait until dark to retrieve remains. If questioned, act like corporal Clink, I Know Nothing eta; I use an old single shot. bolt gun is good if ammo will feed, semi auto can be frustrating. don't own one but impressed by newer pellet guns.
