I'm not sure this is a good time to introduce a new cartridge and gun. It seems that manufactures can't deliver ammo for the demand that's out there now. They have a nice sales pitch but I don't feel the need as strong as their marketing people do. With only two companies offering pistols and only one company offering ammo, it makes me wonder about availability. From the reloading side . . . what's the component availability going to be like? The current back log in everything makes me think I'll wait to see how and if this new offering works out. Do we need a cartridge between .380 APC and 9mm Luger? www.federalpremium.com/30supercarry.html

Interesting Larry. I see that the bullet is the same as in .32 ACP.so as for component I see brass being the issue as to get it is to buy factory rounds. The other component problem is primers as I have looked ans everyone states out of stock. With out seeing side by side comparison of the brass I would guess the 30 Super is a tad longer such the increase of power.

I agree with you observations. My concern would be finding ammo to start obtaining brass in the first place. Out here we still see shortages of most calibers on ammo. On the positive side . . . I saw CCI Small Rifle Primers today for the first time in a long time. Our local Sportsman's Warehouse (recently bought out by Bass Pro Shop) had them for sale at $48/1000; limit one box per person per day. I hope this is the beginning of the relief we have all been hoping for. Powders started showing up on shelves last month.

Agree Larry on the ammo being available. One indicator if there is a possible need is to watch to see if Starline Brass starts making the brass. If they see to potental they'll make the bras as in when they started to meke 41special brass. In fact Sierra's ost recent load book has load data for 41spl.

Just browsing the web, I've seen a lot of skepticism on this one. I'm watching, and we'll see how things pan out. It is an interesting concept, although I don't see it fitting my needs (yet !) What are you reading about pressures ? I saw one source that claimed 50000 psi. Might want to consider it in a '98 Mauser action ! Anyway, fun to look and contimplate !

Pooh yes I to have read of the chamber presser at 50,000psi. I would not just consider chamber pressure as a deciding factor. The 327 Fed mag has a chamber pressure of 45,000 psi and if I remeber right the 22lr is 40,000psi. The 9mm and 357mag is 35,000psi. I have a good amount of 9mm components on had so I'll not be running out to invest in this new offering. Also S&W has a new 9mm handgun out that has caught my eye and have posted about it. Larry here is a link to a persons view on this and his onewas as yours the ammo being available, gununiversity.com/30-super-carry/

I guess I would expect more from a new product-offering that is "the most revolutionary advancement in selfdefense history". I think Federal could have come up with something more exciting to offer on their 100th anniversary. The main cause of my disinterest is simply the fact that I do not see this offering meeting any real "need". Also, I don't have any storage space in my gun safe between my .380 ACP's and my 9mm Lugers . If one of you guys buys one of these and it turns out that I totally missed something . . . please let me know; I guess I could make room in the safe if need be.

Back in the day, TC would have made a barrel for it. Wonder if it has any potential for varmint/goofing around ? Sometthing like the old Marlin Camp Carbines ?

I've been lurking since 9:oo AM 1/11/22 I'm not that interested cause like Larry I would have to move stuff around, more over I don't perceive the need (want) for one between the .32 ACP and the 9mm both of which reside at my abode.
