Gary,just so we don't hijack the 6.5x55 thread, I picked up some of the bullets you're trying in your s/s. They were on sale at the LGS, and I thought if they were in .308, they'd shoot in *something* ! I tried them in a Ruger American in .308 that I bought last year* and tried some-loaded to 30-30 velocities. They were fine. I emailed Hornady and they said they were good on game from ~1600 to ~2500 fps. I hadn't thought of them in the 30-30, but I think the Contender Carbine may see some !

My daughter came from Missouri, my son and grand son, my wife and I had a nice dinner of grilled "porter house" pork chops, corn on the cobb, my son, G'son and I share 10/5. G'son is 4 minutes early though @ 10/4.
