Pooh I don't know if you are aware of this or not. Looks like your state might have round squirrel hunting if this does pass. Reading this article are the squirrels up your way that much of a problem? Most squirrels have two litters a year and if I'm not mistaken can have a third in warmer areas of the country. Here they went to mid Sept. as from mid Oct. to end of Feb. I would like to see to the end of March. Yes I sure do like squirrel hunting as I get to spend time with my grand kids. Hacker, that one caught me by surprise, and I've been keeping an eye on the legislature (as always...) Can't say we're overrun with 'em, except in built up areas where people feed them. (or they help themselves at bird feeders !) I don't see any harm in opening it up-it's a good gateway for kids. However, before the legislature gets to wild, I think it's time for them to go home for a while ! (There are some pretty squirrely characters around that place...)  |

Gary, it came out of committee marked "inexpedient to legislate" From what I can tell, it was initially proposed to cut two weeks off the season, and got amended as all year. I don't think it has legs, and probably won't be back. There's been some crazy stuff going around this year, in all fairness, not all of it anti.
Until a couple of decades ago, the legislature met every other year. Somehow, we let them start meeting more regularly. Life was better before ! They now have too much time on their hands !

My daughter came from Missouri, my son and grand son, my wife and I had a nice dinner of grilled "porter house" pork chops, corn on the cobb, my son, G'son and I share 10/5. G'son is 4 minutes early though @ 10/4.
Pooh I hope you find to right house .
