The eccentric weight came off the motor on my Turbo 1200 so now I have to get a new one. It will be another Turbo 1200 as the broken unit was purchased used in the '70s and I nave no idea how many thousands of cases , mostly rifle, it cleaned. I did give some thought to changing methods of cleaning the cases but decided I'm too old to change!

Bob, stuff has the nerve of wearing out before we do ! I have a Midway tumbler I bought back in '88, and it has some serious hours on it (This was produced before they went to the Frankford Armory name.) I think it was made by the same folks who did the Lyman. Hard to kill !
If you're still an active HE Instructor, Lyman has a discount program you might want to look into.
I still like the corncob media. In fact, I think it was you who put me on to Grainger's blasting media. That has saved some $$ over the years !

Bob, FYI, the Midway flyer showed up today, and they mentioned a sale price on Lyman tumblers. I haven't checked it out, but there it is !

Pooh, thank you for the thought. I ordered my new 1200 from Midway yesterday and to my surprise I got the sale price which with tax and shipping came out to the full price.

Back in the day, one of the real attractions of Midway was free shipping. Boy, do I miss that !

I received my new Lyman 1200 today and started using immediately, well after I unpacked it. Boy what a difference a few decades makes, this has an on/off switch and is about 300 dbs. quieter what a blessing, I can now run it in my reloading room with out a towel over it. 4 day delivery from Midway and on a Sunday at that.

Sounds like even the simple tools improve with time. Many of the items in my shop have no on-off switch. After coming in to the shop and finding something that has been running all night, I finally built a short power cord with an electromechanical timer. It gives me an extra three feet of cord so I can set it out of the way on the bench and select how long I want it to run. While it’s not water proof it is made of damp location materials. The switch-timer is ratted at a full 20 amps so it's plenty heavy duty. The amazing thing back then was that I had all the necessary materials laying around and didn't have to go to the hardware store (very unusual).

GOOD POINT, Bob I built this when I lived on the LEFT Coast and there was a possibility of tsunami over there . . . . . . . also, just in case I knock over or spill some of Gary's coffee.

I spaced out one time, got busy, and forgot some odd brass in the tumbler, which ended up running for a week... It had gone beyond shiny, and there was just something about it, I just scrapped it. There is apparently a point of diminishing returns for tumbling ! (It was some range salvage or something, so I didn't cry too long !)

Gary's coffee and electricity, that would be catastrophic!
There is something about brass that you can see through, I've been told not to load it.
