Well the dreaded handgun virous has struck again. My LGS buys "estate firearms" which he then uses too incubate the virous. Fortunately or otherwise he offers me and a few others first exposure. This time it is an S&W 6" Model 27 in nib condition with both sets of S&W grips. It is going to be fun to shoot and the other members of the "family" are accepting it graciously. I guess there is no antidote!

Virus seems to be spreading . . . I was minding my own business in my LGS and happen to see a "new" S&W CSX pistol. Once I touched it I had the virus! It now resides in my safe. It is unique among todays S&W Simi-Autos. It is NOT striker fired and aside for the palm grip it is NOT polymer. The frame is billet aluminum, slide is stainless. Safety is 1911 style and ambidextrous as is the slide lock. Magazine release is reversible so it's great for lefties. It came with two magazines (10 round and 12 round) that are double stacked. It has a fantastic trigger with clean break and reset. When I get a holster I'm planning to carry it. Small and compact but even with my big hands it feels good with the 12 round magazine. This virus seems to be working its way east . . . the rest of you guys need to be aware of it.

Nice find Bob. I would prefer the 3.5 inch model. Had a chance on one many years ago but not enough cash. Larry I posted about the S&W CSX about a month ago or so and yes I had the chance to hold one and it fits well in my hand and hope to have one soon. Now for this virus I just picked up a Crickett single shot with 10.5 inch barrel and had them mount the scope that was on the Ruger Redhawk on to it. I will sight it in at 25ds. after my eye surgeries are done. Left eye gets done on Aug 1st. Here's whatb I piched up. My model is no sights but had 3/8th dove tail scope base and no threaded barrel. www.keystonesportingarmsllc.com/product/crickett-synthetic-pistol/

Squirrels had better watch out now! Congratulations on keeping the virus spreading to the East!

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Bob, I think it's nice you're giving that poor orphan a home ! Enjoy ! Hacker, wondered where you've been. Good luck with the surgery. At our age, we're lucky we can still find people to work on us !

That LGS owner opened the virus containment case as a friend and I were standing there(way too close) so guess what! A nice 6" S&W K22 infected me, admittedly I have been casually looking for one as I wanted a double action .22 revolver. I think it will be fun! Hacker I very much hope all went well with the eye surgery so we can chase squirrels from coast to coast!

I seem to have it bad too . . . Just brought home a "Ruger / Marlin" 1895 in 45-70. It's Ruger's first lever gun. It's a short barrel beauty with ghost ring type peep sight and threaded barrel. They call it the "Trapper". This one should be fun.
