Thanks, as always, for the heads up ! Wasn't Mike Bellm doing conversions to 357 Max on these ? He does nice work.

Hi Hacker- yep-he did a conversion on a 10" 357 Mag barrel for me years ago, to 357 Max. I get his newsletter and he seems to go on runs with single shots. His big thing now is doing upgrades on Bergarra barrels. Good work, and the price back then was reasonable. I guess I was just trying to put this s/s Henry in perspective.
Messy snow storm today. Winter just doesn't appeal to me as much as it did !

There will be no trace of snow in another day.....got a whole 2 inches....
Who is Mike Bellm?
I've never owned a Henry. Nice looking rifles, though? You guys have one?

Not meaning to hijack Hacker's thread, but a good source is Mike's own page. 357maximum.net/about/ His son took over the retail end, and from what I can tell, anything that has to do with an FFL. Mike does barrels. He worked woth P.O. Ackley for a number of years and has some pretty definite ideas on throating and the like, which you may be interested in looking over. I don't take a hard stand on his postitions, but I know the barrel he did for me shoots great, when I'm up to the abuse of the .357 Max. I'm a Henry alumni. I got one of the basic lever .22s years ago, when they were made in Brooklyn ! It had a bewutiful piece os wood on it, but after a while, I let it go to a good home. Fun little rifle.

I started out with a Henry many, many years ago and shot what we used to call crumble-balls; a 22 Short with a lead and zinc mixed bullet that would literally crumble on impact. Not like today's fragmentation rounds; these turned to dust with no splatter. It's the ammo they used to use at the Shooting Gallery's with the little ducks moving across. I sure wish I still had that one. The only Henry among my stuff these days is the one I shot in the Henry, Thousand Man Shoot. Now she is a safe-queen . . . too pretty to take out.
