Well yesterday the fourth I and my hunting buddy went to this gun show at a volunteer fire station which I have become friends with some of the folks from my days of teaching EMS classes. They have this show every year so far in Feb. They sell breakfast and lunch items and that helps the fire station. I did buy a few items that will suit my needs. I got a bronze bore brush for my 41mag. I got a small for handgun cleaning kit that will go into one of my range kits as I do have another I picked up awhile back. Now my best find at this little show was the primers that I've been looking for the past year or so. This vendor had CCI primers that made up about 95% of the primer they had. So I got a 1,000 of CCI 350 large pistol mag. With sales tax it came to $95.35 which was a deal. I looked on Powder Valley's site and for the same they list for $95.00 that does not include shipping and the hazmat charge. I don't know if they charge sales tax. I'm sure if they are in one of those states that have that interstate sales tax agreement or not as I had gotten primers from them a few months ago.

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Hopefully, that's not the new normal ! I know you've been looking for the primers for a while now. I guess the trick these days is to squeeze and make 'em count !

It seems that the "new normal" price range for primers here in the west is just under the $100/1000 range. I have never understood why shortages drive prices up (like gas, etc.) and after the shortage the prices never go all the way back to the old level. I've mentioned my primer stockpile is substantial and that the pricing on the boxes are all under $35/1000. I got caught in the shortage of 2016 and said that would never happen again (so far so good). Reloading powder did the same thing but to a lesser degree. Prices for powder was well under $30/pound and got up to $90/pound; now it's averaging $37/pound. My powder stockpile is substantial too so I'm okay. After the suppliers make us sweat out no availability, they count on us being happy to find products at any price. The price of Factory Ammo has climbed to the point that we can still save some money by reloading. This lesson in economics is what gives old guys like me the opportunity to say; I remember when I used to buy that for . . . .

Like you Larry I remember when! I have a reasonable number of primers and supply of powders however if I was much younger my inventory would be lacking.
