Well guys I did state sometime back on some what I would call gunsmith projects. Yep I know it takes me awhile to get going on things and I got some done. First I replaced the spring and guide rod in my S&W Sigma. Took out the original spring and polymer rod and put in a stainless steel and spring. Now I did weight the two to see how much added weight would be forward of the trigger. I used my little MTM digital scale. The poly rod and spring came in at .340oz the stainless rod and spring came in at .792oz for an increase of .452oz that's almost a half ounce more forward weight. No that might not seem much but it will dampen recoil some. Second project was to put scope base on my Ruger Hunter in 41mag. Yes this one has the cuts and notches for Ruger rings but I wanted a means to mount a red dot on it. So I found one that matches the ones the sides and I don't have to remove the front and back sights. The base did not have the little nibs that would go in the notches on the top. The maker stated to keep it straight while tightening it in place. I thought how am I going to do that and I came up with two faced/double sided tape to help keep it in place as I torqued it to 25 inch pounds. Third was to change scopes on my bolt action single shot 22lr handgun from a 2X to a 2X-7X. I am hoping to get range time in with these and to get some spring turkey hunting in be for my next medical appointment and up coming surgery on my left leg. More to follow on that later.

Feels good to complete a project doesn't it. Good luck with the turkeys and the pending surgery!

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Gary, sometimes projects have to be thought through, and through... Once you get to them they fall in place ! Hope the results are great !
