Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

I pulled out my Security Six Stainless recently, and noted how disgusting the front of the cylinder looked. I was placing an order for other stuff, and threw in a Birchwood Casey Lead remover cloth on a whim. It was like magic. In about 15 minutes, it looked like it was when Bill Ruger last saw it. Great. Now what did the magic. The cloth itself resembled a heavy felt. It obviously had been treated with something. Any idea what the magic substance might be ? Ok, I'm frugal. I handload, and if I could, I'd rinse out and resuse those silly glucose test strips... Any thoughts on this or some other hack ?

Pooh, I didn't know of any lead solvent 'till you broached the subject, sinks in chem. labs were made of lead. I looked up [solvents of lead] and there are a few after you discard the bore cleaners. Have fun and good luck

You might try some of Hacker's Coffee . . . but be careful not to spill any of it.

Larry, Hacker's coffee may be hard on the stainless steel gun itself.

You mean it's likely to remove the gun and leave the stain ?
