Yes guys I think that the deer and squirrel are sharing intel. Now Dec. 9th was our last day for the rifle deer season and the squirrels were running everywhere. One even came with in 15 feet and I swear it thumbed it's nose and stuck it's tongue out at me then ran back the way it came. Of course saw no deer. Now Mon. the 11th small game came back in. I and my hunting buddy were out to sit for squirrel on Fri. the 15th. I'm sitting in the same are as I did for deer and saw a few squirrel and got the barrel dirty on the single shot with the new sights but no squirrel for the pot. Around 12:40 I see three doe along the edge of the field. They came down along the edge and came into the woods where I'm sitting. They came within 25 yards of me and stood there and looked at me for a bit then angled their way up towards my buddy. I am hoping for some luck come this flintlock season which starts the day after Christmas.

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

I've had a lot of experiences that lead me to believe that the critters know which valid tag is in your pocket !! Have you burned any powder in the Traditions yet ?

As you've already experienced, that is the universal Game Season Callender at work. There is a version in every state in every language, I have experienced it at work here many times over the years.

No Pooh I have not burned any powder in the Traditions. I hope to soon as I still need things for it. But it will be more difficult for both as small game will still be in. They will have to figure out what gun I'm carrying the day I'm out there.

I've never figured how the critters know but I've seen it happen over the years in every state I've hunted in.
