Well Pooh I finally got out yesterday and shot the flintlock. My hunting buddy help me out with some of his accessories so I can shot. Wanted to set up for 25 yards but had to go out to 50. I used 80gr. charge of 3F as this worked for me in the past. First shot hit the paper. I adjusted the sights and next shot and hit the target area at 1.75 inch low and one inch to the right. Adjust again and now at about 1/8th low but three inches to the left. So I moved it back to the right about half of the prior move. I swabbed the bore after the second shot and did not shoot for groups as the breeze was starting tp pickup. So with this 50 yards and in it the shot will be in the vitals. Fri. I will be getting my own accessories and should be set. Oh my buddy gave me some 3F and 4F. Now when out hunting need to see deer at 50 yards and in.

Gary, not sure of what caliber you're using. Isn't the flintlock a hoot ? A matchlock is on my bucket list, just because. With my luck, I'd get it and we'd have drought conditions that would make it a fire hazard ! For heaven's sake, don't forget your eye protection ! Keep us posted !

The match lock, isn't it the one which you have to pull the trigger a few minutes before you actually see the deer and hope you don't burn the place down when it finally goes off.
