Well guys tomorrow the 15th is the last day for flintlock and no I'm not going out because the high is to be in low to mid 20s. Too cold for me. Now I and my good friend and hunting buddy were out yesterday the 13th. Now yesterday was not ideal conditions as it was very windy off and on with the tempt dropping at around early afternoon. Again the squirrels were running and had one 12 yards per my range finder sitting on a log. I was tempted but no I didn't try to shoot. As I stated it got colder as the day went on and with the wind I gave up at 4PM. made my way out then fired it off which meant a cleaning today and store it for next season Lord willing.

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Store it away for next season ? Hacker, it's the perfect plinker ! (Bonus: doesn't use primers !) Keep it near the top of the heap. I bet your grandchildren would love to take some shots. Don't grease it up *too* well. Sounds like you had fun. Are squirrels still legal ? Headshots will get you there.

Late to the party as usual. Not a flinter, but I keep my 50 round ball gun handy. Live in a rural setting. Sometimes back yard varmints need to be delt with. A light charge of BP delivers the results. A .22 CB would do, but not as much fun.
