Aside from the ability to use a relatively easy to manufacture bullet, usable in California (jacketed, as I understand it) I don't see a lot of future for this round. Looking into my crystal ball, I see a lot of orphaned rifles. Maybe my view is warped by my youthful attraction to the 5mm Remington Magnum. Fortunately, I didn't have the funds or age to buy one back then ! I wish everyone luck, but if this was going to be done, it probably should have happened around 1900 ! Thanks for sharing !

From what I can see . . . I'm not worried about being trampled in a stampede of fellow shooters rushing out to buy this latest creation. Looks like R&D money could have been better spent.

I was on the road today, and got to thinking about this one. It would seem that they could have simply revived the old .22WRF and achieved what they wanted. I can think of two reasons-the existing rifles in .22WRF are pretty old, and they may have wanted more flexibility in pressures and such, and everyone is tooled up to make .22LR cases. Notice that Winchester and Savage are both offering new rifles in the .21.

Agree Pooh as I think they could have brought back the 22 Win Rim Fire. Now that would gain my interest.

I wonder what the actual bullet diameter is. I also have a Winchester '06 in 22WRF so it would be nice to bring it back.

Bob, years ago I had a friend who had a 1906, and sometime prior to his passing, I think Aguillar did a run. As I understand it, the case for the .21 is the same as the .22 LR, but they made the bullet smaller to avoid the heel thingie. In the meantime on a hunch, I found this: www.midwayusa.com/product/1301126619?pid=229364Hacker, maybe the revived T/C will do a WRF chambering in the Contender !

Thanks Hacker and Pooh for the information. A number of years ago Winchester did a run of WRF and I bought 500 rounds also I have 200 rounds of original WRF so I am in reasonable shape also I don't shoot that rifle often.
