Saturday at our defensive pistol shoot we had two special stages the first represents, the battle of of Old North Bridge at Concord and Lexington in 1775. The second represents, the Battle of Yorktown Va. which virtually ended the war in 1781 Red indicates the British Red coats. White are the good guys It was a beautiful day with just enough wind to keep the heat down and every one had a great day.

wychild, Now that is neat adding some history to the match. That makes for an interesting course of fire. I like the idea. Did this elevate the competition any?

Yes, it did especially on the Yorktown stage, it was somewhat hard to shoot past some of the white rebels because the red coats were behind them so the target size was diminished. The whole shoot was challenging, The guy that started this venue of defensive shooting, is an ex Police chief from Alaska and is prone to set up using very realistic situations that test you and makes you think. Lke having to stop in the middle of a stage remove your magazine load two cartridges in the mag and resume to finish the rest of the stage, or shoot part of the stage replace the magazine move to a different location and finish shooting using your weak hand, you would be surprised at how this messes with high speed trigger pullers minds.

Wychild, I see his reasoning. Shooting weak hand and changing out mags and the up most making your shots count. Did they have anybody at the competition with wheel guns if so did they have to do the same with their speed loaders as those with mags in changing out?

yes hacker one of the shooters uses a wheel gun he did fine, as he shoots major competitions with only wheel guns.
