I am not talking about weapon of choice. I am talking about safety gear or gear that will help you in the event you are stuck out because of accident, injury or severe weather. Unless I am doing a lot of walking ie upland birds or rabbits I never leave home to hunt with out my pack EVER. I do not keep a lot of useless gear in it either ie calls, scents and attractants that's what I keep in a fanny pack that goes with me no matter what. My main pack always contains the following: Emergency blanket or poncho liner, extra dry clothes, 3 pairs of socks (many different uses for them), fire starter (dryer lint and poplar shaving) with water proof matches, a full water bladder that's built into my pack 3.5 liters, 3 freeze dried meals, waterproof outer ware and a poncho (again many uses), lansatic compass, hand held GPS, cell phone (just incase I find signal), a journal, ID cards, TP 2 rolls (again many uses), preprogrammed 12mi range 2 way radio and short of putting together a trauma kit I carry a loggers first aid kit. That's my modest kit what is yours? ?

For small game hunting in rural areas such as farmland all I every carry is my cell phone. Usually a group of us go out and in separate directions unless hunting with dogs or on a specific drive. Now for true northern wilderness survival I do take a medium back pack with these basic items. Thin parachute chord 6 energy-bars Water proof matches Map and compass GPS that is only used to find position on map. Spare batteries Coil of copper wire Fishing line and hooks Small first aid kit Probably missed a few items.
Beside a good size hunting knife I also take a hatchet. Otherwise I have what I need to survive for some time if I need to feed of the land for a while. I guess a lot depends on the environment you may need to reside in for a while. For me the #1 rule is to control any feelings of panic because it is killer.

The kit I have for the litterbox has the following things in it: Iodine water tablets, hemo band aid (made form something from a lobster but it will stop aortic bleeding), quick clot gauze, 12ga IV needle, hemostats, razorblade, 2 compress bandages, 2 hit packs (some form a anti-biotic, anti-inflammatory and mild pain relief), small bag of 800mg ibuprofen and Imodium ID, a tunicate, space blanket, flashlight and headlamp w/spare batteries, singling mirror w/magnifying lens, 50’ un-gutted para cord, small fishing kit (hooks, line, bait and such), in an old plastic snuff can: waterproof matches, 2 heat tabs, 4 cotton balls soaked with petroleum jelly, magnesium bar w/flint spark strip and drier lint. 6 power bars, 4 each beef and chicken bouillon cubes, a 5 piece pack of caffeine gum, 5 1 serving packs of coffee, folding knife and sharpener, 9 v battery and IR strobe. All this fits into a jip up pouch about 8”x8”x6”. The truck has a full 2x person trauma fanny bag from Strike Eagle and it will take care of anything short of surgery for them. I also have a nice li’l kit worked up for my day pack I carry hunting that fits into one pocket, I try to have at least 2 different uses for anything that I use in my kits.

I have much of the same stuff you guys carry but the most important thing I carry is a Personal locator beacon. No signal required from cell towers. It's all done by Satellite GPS. Will pin point your location to within 3 feet. But be careful accidental activation could cost you thousands. AMAZON

At my stage in life I either take another hunter or a bottle of scotch 'cause if I'm alone I don't want to think about it! Your kits all resemble mine of the younger times plus a sharpened needle with thread.
