To reduce possible repetition and board clutter I wonder if using a sub board for Rifle, Shotgun, Handgun and Muzzle Loader might be an asset. If each category had a sub board for load info to keep specific related info in same area that would reduce having to navigate to different areas of the board.
My preference is to keep related info together instead of being scattered to find but may not be to others liking.

Ed, First off let me say that you have a good idea. However the man behind the curtain (meaning our host) doesn't have the resources to support deep level board searches. I'll try to explain below. There is the category: "Reloading & How To Information ONLY" In it there are the Boards for Rifle, Handgun, Shotgun, and Muzzle Loader reloading info. If Sub-boards are added to these it then causes any information posted in those sub-boards to be buried even deeper. Retrieving information from sub-boards is about all our current search engine can handle now. In fact it really doesn't work that good to begin with. I have a few hidden Categories, boards, sub-boards and sub, sub- boards if that's what they are called. That I have been doing some testing in. What I have found so far is that if everyone that created a thread used identifying key words in the title such as "Barnes 55gr .223 load", or "Sierra 53gr Match .223 load" instead of ".223 load" the search engine can narrow down the results. If titles such as "Here's a good load" are used then the search engine would or should find and show that for every query for load info. Of course that contaminates the search for a specific load. If you want to find all .223 loads then that would be the search key words.
Another problem with going too deep in the file structure is that the search engine has limits on how long search and how deep it will go to find something. ProBoards has set that limit pretty shallow due to the fact that they host hundreds of thousands of forums. So if only 1% of the people logged into all these boards and are running searches then the server resources are being heavily taxed. That all takes an enormous amount of computing horse power to operate without crashing. Right now we have a very small forum. Membership is still less than 100 and yes I'm already having trouble finding threads that I want to re-visit. I don't have a good solution as of yet and may not come up with one but I'm working on it.

Thanks for the response and that informative reply to my suggestion. Members like myself don’t know the behind the scenes of how a board functions when we make suggestions and are only trying to be helpful as well as participating with good intentions. Thanks for the clarification.

Ed, Your suggestions are very much appreciated. I wish I could act on them and I would if the resources were available. I hope you will continue to share your ideas as that is what will make this forum grow. Thanks again! Dan

Thanks for your encouraging words. The board is in its infancy but will develop into one that will include and welcomes multi nationalities. If only this world would follow the example that fellow shooters and hunters enjoy here it would be a better place for sure. Here it’s great to meet and communicate with others that have a common interest and want to share.
You and others have greatly contributed to making what this board is maturing into and for that you and others have my respect and thanks.
