Or maybe I should state how would you react to wildlife encounters. I'll give this story of my encounter with a grey fox. I am out at the farther-in laws and just down the power line from the edge of his field was off to the side a Huckleberry bush. Man was this bush loaded with berries and good sizes to for being a wild bush. Well I have one of those plastic ice cream buckets to fill. I'm half way filled when behind me I hear rustling of leaves. I get up from my crouched position and turn and nothing and can't see anything so back to picking. Again I hear something in the leaves behind me so again I get up and turn again nothing. So I'm guessing a chipmunk or a squirrel. Both run that area frequently. So back to picking more Huckleberries when again yep you guessed it the rustling of the leaves behind me. OK now what to do? Well instead of getting up from my crouched position I just turn to my left and now I'm face to face with a Grey fox. I was so determined to see what it was as I was not startled. Oh how close is this face to face. If the fox would stick out it's tongue it would kiss me on my nose. So I just eased back a bit the fox sat down a gave me a looking over. The fox would tilt it's head to one side then back up looking me up and down the tilt to the other side then back and another look up and down. I guess that the fox didn't find me interesting so the fox turned around and walked away back through the brush. I have another fox story to share after this.

Hacker54 Now that would have been an interesting encounter to witness. It would have been also interesting to know what was going through the fox’s mind. Maybe, hey buddy what are doing in my neck of the woods? Or those berries taste like crap to me and you’re collecting to eat these? Or am I that ugly you didn’t give me a smooch when we were face to face? Just looking at the lighter side of a close encounter when there’s nothing else to go on. Ed
