I shot two competitions one on Saturday, Defensive pistol, at the Otto Road shooting range in Cheyenne and on Sunday my first, F-class rifle shoot at the Cheyenne Rifle and Pistol club. also in Cheyenne.
The Cheyenne Rifle and Pistol club has a great rifle range setup for NRA sanctioned events Located on a 300 acer ranch north of town the range is only 600 yards but has first class target pits all in closed concrete. With wind flags strategically located.
We had three relays of 6-7 shooters per relay. and 3 rotation 20 rounds per rotation.
The way they run the relays, is to have one relay shooting, one running the pits, marking and working the targets and the third relay doing the scoring. This was great for me as I had never done one before so I had a chance to see all sides.
The first picture is the first relay setting up next is the 3rd relay getting with me ready I the one behind the orange bucket
and the last is me dragging my gear and my tired 74 year old a$$ back to the truck after shooting two full competitions in 2 days that was close to 200 rounds on Saturday and 60 rounds + 10 sighter's 4 on the first round 2 each for the last 2 rounds
It was a two great days of shooting as the weather was great both days I learned a bunch about reading the wind at the F class shoot as I am used to shooting steel plates where as shooting a target at long range with instant accurate feed back is great practice using mirage flags and just pressure on your face to judge direction and speed effect on your shots.I will do this again as I think both venues enhance each other.
I am only sorry that I didn't get more picture's of the range and pits but as this was my first time out I just didn't take the time. but will get some the next time.
