Hey all, Just when you've convinced yourself you have enough "protection" in your gun safe, along comes a little jewel that you think you just have to have; the Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard 380. I've been waffling back and forth about getting a smaller carry weapon...currently carry either the H&K P2000 SK or the M&P Compact, both in .40S&W flavor. I've also drooled over the Sig Sauer P238, but that's too much $$$. My brother suggested the Kahr P380, but again, too much dinero. I'm EXTREMELY happy with the M&P Compact platform performance in my S&W and am wondering if the Bodyguard is of the same quality. I've read reviews from LEO's, who carry this as their off-duty weapon, stating they really didn't like the Bodyguard with the Crimson Trace Laser. So I'm heeding that advice and looking at the model that doesn't have the Crimson...cheaper too. Does anyone own one of these that can pass along the pros/cons (besides cost) over the Sig Sauer P238 or Kahr P380? Thanks!!!

I carry one everyday of the week. I can't think of anything bad to say about it. I have shot several backup pistol matches with it and I enjoy shooting it.

Thank you, sir, for the feedback! One of my co-workers (who I SWEAR sleeps in his gun safe) told me it's a piece of fecal matter (the nice way to put it and told me to buy a shield instead. Well I already have an M&P Compact 40 and would like something smaller to carry either in my pocket or even in addition to the Compact 40. For around $350, I think it's a good bargain. Still on the fence about spending the money, though. I'll have to see what my finances are the middle of next month... Thanks again!

Well the co-worker and my brother have given me enough argument and evidence to go with the M&P Shield 40S&W. It won't be that much more $$ from the guy I get all my stuff from. I'll go with the Bodyguard when I absolutely need something to just plink around with or if the woman I'm with (if I can find a decent one ) wants something to shoot....

Yeah you have to go with what you think is best and with your capabilities. I really like the bodyguard better mainly because of size. It is smaller than the shield and a .380 isn't good for the non-experienced or unpracticed. Enjoy!
