Started thinning them this past week end. Had a few friends in for a little shooting and one walked out on the range bang flop. 62gr Varmageddon to the dome and down he went. My friends were amazed that one walked out during the day when I told them that we had a ton of them on my property all three left and came back ready to hunt. What I didn't know was they are all predator hunts and fur sellers so we had a blast the rest of the day (Saturday) they killed 7 yotes and I enjoyed the company.

Nothing like taking care of a problem and having fun doing it. Hope they bring a good price for your friends.

Gary one of the guys that came back Mark likes to use a big bore pellet rifle on them. He has to track them unless he dome shoots them. Mark told me he would take care of the hides if I kill any and split the $$ with me 50/50 I told him 70/30 since he was doing the dirty work. They are supposed to be back in a couple of weeks.

Chuck: what are the hides worth? Bob last year prime hides went down a lot of the local hunter that were laid off took to trapping and fur hunting. I didn't follow the price change the year before the local guys were paying $30-40 for prime hides. Blonde hides are worth more if they are prime last time I sold any they were running $45-60 a hide. The money eh it dose not bother me I don't do enough coyote hunting to worry about hide prices.

Greg I kind of ignored keeping this updated. Since my last posting my friends Mark, Jason and Steve have taken almost 100 coyotes on and around the property we have. They made some good winter fur $$$. I really haven't had the time to do much coyote hunting since that post. Disclaimer time by around my property I am talking 1000's of acres of timber property.

Amazing! 100 in one period? What state? We have lots of them in Northern NM too, but I don't think their hides are as good as those who live more north. My unfinished wildcat project, the .22-243 "yote" Mauser is finally finished, minus good glass. Not going to invest in that unless its a shooter. I just have a hell of a time finding time to do the loading so I can go try it out. I sure can't buy ammo for it. Worst case, is having to have it rebarreled.....but I will if I have to.
