Awesome Dan!! I see that they advise to use factory ammo but then again I do believe that all firearm manufactures have this.

I'm not sure whether that is a squirt gun, some sort of ray gun or a real bullet shoot'n gun!! But I'm sure it will do the job when the SHTF. As Ken said probably fun to shoot also. Happy Birthday Dan.

Thanks everyone for the B-Day wishes. Bob that is a 9mm Glock conversion. It uses the Glock lower, I just happened to have an extra Glock 17 lower so I won't be disabling a pistol to use this. Gary, they do say to use only factory ammo. When I called and mention that factory ammo is inferior by many reloaders standards they admitted it was a statement the lawyers wanted added. That to me told the story. Same goes for the factory stock Glock lower. I don't own any stock Glocks! I have a friend that has run 2000 rounds in his and it is awesome. Chrono'd his loads and due to the longer barrel they are 200 to 300fps faster in the CCU. Best thing about this is it ships to your door step. No FFL transfer required. Also they seem to be what I call combat accurate at 100 yards. Nice!!!!!!! Can't wait to run a few rounds in mine tomorrow.

Dan, I guessed that much for the lawyer bit. I'll have to show this to my son-in-law he might be interested. Oh BTW what for type of rifling do they have? Did not notice on their site I may have missed it.

Gary, I'm not sure what the twist is on this barrel but man I'm impressed. It functioned perfectly with my reloads and with my highly modified lower. The accuracy wasn't anything special but that was more than likely due to my reloads. They are not precision loaded. It is a bit on the heavy side, with a 17 round mag and the few goodies I mounted on it it came in at 9.5 pounds. I can live with it. More testing with be done after the benchrest match in the morning.

Shooting the Mech Tech Glock carbine conversion unit gave me a few surprises. Since I already had an extra glock lower there wasn't any need to deactivate one of my glocks. That's a good thing! The first mag of 17 rounds didn't run through it too good. Every third or fourth round stovepiped. AT first I thought my loads might be too light. So I switch to some heavier loads and had the same problem. I ended up firing about 300 rounds still getting the occasional stovepipe but by the time I had about 500 rounds down range all worked as it should. I now have fired just over 900 rounds with no additional failures. Plus I have noticed that it runs much smoother. It must have just needed some break-in time. The 2 other guys that have these say they didn't experience any need for break-in. I spent most of the day shooting targets on the move. I tried several sling configurations and different mag capacities. I haven't settled on a sling configuration as of yet but I did discover that the 33 round glock mags are IMHO a pain in the ass. I was very happy with the 17 rounds mags and since I have 47 of those, that's what I will stick with. Choreographed ammo: I don't know what loads they were but I know that I had loaded them light for a match that I wanted to shoot. I loaded up some mags and shot them in my glock 17 pistol. 20 round were fired an they averaged 972 fps. Then I shot 20 rounds in the Glock CCU and they averaged 1252 fps! It's amazing what some extra barrel can do for your velocity. I also noticed that the ES and SD was much better out of the longer barrel but that isn't really a surprise. This has turned out to be my favorite go to rifle. That is as far as self defense and if SHTF situations. I shot it in a 2 gun IDPA match and just loved it. The match was setup primarily for the carbine but there were a couple of stages that required you to start and finish the stage with your hand gun using the carbine for only a couple of longer range targets. The recoil took some practice to maintain enough control for double taps. Believe it or not the 9mm in a carbine has more recoil than I would have imagined. It is slightly more than my AR-15. Groups at 100 yards off hand with my cheap cheap cheap BSA red dot sight was around 6 inches with the 45 degree angle mounted iron sights I managed some 7 inch groups off hand. From the bench the largest 5 shot group I had was 3 inches. That might improve if I were to concentrate more on mashing together some better ammo. My Pros and Cons Cons 1. Weight it's heavy 2. Bolt does not lock open after last shot. 3. Barrel cleaning must be done from the muzzle. (Dis-assembly not field friendly) 4. Heavier recoil than expected. Pros 1. No need to carry different caliber ammo 2. no gas tube to plug 3. Very well constructed. 4. Numerous accessories available. 5. If you run out of ammo it makes a hell of a club. 6. It just looks bad ass!

Thanks for sharing the run down on the carbine. Gun show next weekend maybe there might be one there to take a look at. So many toys out there and I can't play with all of them.

Well I couldn't stand it so I ordered another CCU. This one is for a 1911. I have several so deactivating one of them won't be such a crime. I am looking forward to the big bore pistol caliber carbine. It should prove to be an interesting combination. The only drawback to this version is the single stack mags. I do have a 30 round mag but it is ridiculously long. It should be here next Friday or Saturday so another range report is coming.

Well it will be interesting to hear your report on the "bid bore". I imagine that if the recoil is noticable at the 9mm level it could be substaantial with the .45, of course depending on bullet weight and "speed". I'm sure you will enjoy it, looking foward to the report.
