My boy and I took a road trip to Cabela's, near Buffalo N.Y., yesterday after I finished work. While looking through the "Bargain Cave" he found a Lee Classic turret press for $83.39. We had the sales girl open it up so we could make sure everything was there and it appeared to be alright so he purchased it. After setting it up today the only thing we see wrong so far is that there is a slight bend in the handle. Seeing that bend in the handle makes me wonder what the first owner was trying to do.
Once we actually try to use it I'll have to let you know how it turns out.

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

My first press, and now my backup, was a Lee Turret Press (three-holer, pre-auto indexing) Good press, but I blew out the linkage trying to reform cases. (I was younger and stupider.) I bought a Rockchucker and set the Lee aside thinking I'd send it in. Never got to it. Years later, I stumbled onto the Lee website, and for a very few bucks got some parts that made it good as new. I haven't checked on specific availability, but if there's a problem, check it out. (Also, the availablity of replacement parts makes me braver about trying to bend something back into shape.) I hope it works out well for you and him.

JB, Nice score. I was at our Cabela's on Thur. My son-in-law got me a new Lyman Tunbler. The stuff in the bargain cave are returns and don't always have all the parts. The other year I picked up a Lee Pro 1000 for a C-note. There were missing parts I knew this and bought it and ordered the parts and had it up and running in quick order. On Thur. we looked around the cave and they had a Lee Challenger Kit and a Lee Load Master. The Challenger Kit was under a C-note and the Load Master was just about $200. If I had the funds the Load Master would've came home with me. They both were probably missing some parts which were not be a problem as I could get parts and have'em up and running. As for your handle you can get a replacement.

The Lee Classic turret press arm does have a slight bend to it. Turn the arm so the bend turns right to clear the press and the primer arm. Also buy a turret for each caliber you intend to load. Saves time. Ed...
