What's keeping you busy at the bench right now?
I'm about a dozen plans behind schedule as usual at the moment. Sized and lubed a little over 15 lbs. of Lee 356-120-TC cast bullets tonight. Supply was getting a little low after the last big run of 9mm a couple weeks ago. One of my favorite range toys is a Springfield Armory XDm 5.25 Competition in 9mm and it is very easy to get through a few hundred rounds in an afternoon of shooting steel.

Steel matches do consume allot of ammo depending on the number of stages, 150 +/- 10 rounds is usually what I send down range at a match. The biggest project on my bench now is down sizing and making it portable. Deciding what presses to keep and take with us and what other equipment will go with us is becoming a nightmare. So far the only presses that will be loaded into the RV are the Lee Load Master and the T-mag Turret.

Dan,
Are you going to still shot bench rest competition while doing the RV thing? And other competitions as well?

Gary, Not near as much as I am now. I will still shoot an occasional IDPA match but from what I have been able to find out the majority of benchrest matches are east of the Mississippi. That doesn't mean they don't have them but I haven't found any yet. We will be spending most of our time in Arizona, Wyoming and maybe some in Montana. The one cool thing about living in the Arizona Desert is you don't have to go far to setup a 600 yard or more range. I haven't done much research about doing that in Wyoming or Montana yet.

With shooting competition, a minimum of 4 times a month. Bowling Pins , Steel Challenge, Defensive pistol and Long range Rifle. I am just about chained to my reloading bench. Just in the last 2 weeks I have loaded 200, .308's, 200, 6.5 Grendel's, 500 9mm Luger and 500 45 ACP all of them on single stage presses.

Well as of now I'm down to 2 benchrest matches a month 1 steel match and 1 IDPA and that keeps me at the bench most evenings.

Been working way to much to have bench time since I bounced from The Hub.... Have a ton of milled lumber waiting to become my loading room and bench.... Now all I have to do is find the time for it all

Dan, As you probably know, one thing you won't see is that many nice pretty grassy fields to shoot in like I see in your Avatar least not until you get north. One exception is Colorado Clays north of Denver. That place is wonderful. I've made the trip there once. (8 hours from me) On the third station we (4 of us) shot our clays, and promptly a doe and 2 fawns stood up out of the tall grass...a little to the right and in front of us, and casually walked across the station then trotted up the hill. Wasn't scared of us or the shooting. Just neat. My bench is a mess right now.....can't do anything til I get it cleaned up. Too many projects of the honey-do variety right now. Yeah they even took over my bench!

Had a nice and laid back 1000 round 9mm loading session this afternoon/evening in between messing around with the boys, dinner, and goofing around on the shooting and reloading sites I visit. Still have a little clean up to do and then I'll be ready for the next project. I've got the .45 ACP/9mm stash in pretty good shape for the time being. Probably either go to .38 Special or .44M next......those should be a little less like work. Might possibly size and lube the rest of the Lee 356-120-TC's I've got cast up first so they are ready for when I need to load 9mm again.

I'm good on 9mm and .45 but need to load more 22-250 & .223 you can never have too much .223. I am also good on .22lr I probably have more than I would ever shoot. (maybe not) I have to either sell or shoot the rest of my .40s&w I'm not keeping that one. I might turn Kat loose with it and let her have some fun.

This box says Quick Reply! Well I figger this site out sooner than too late(it is not that hard I'm just that dumb). My bench is jammed with once fired '06 brass which need all the work as well as a bunch of once fired .218 Bee cases and .220 Swift stuff. The worst of it I have to WORK the unfortunate part of growing up.
