A method I've adopted for trimming cases with the Trim Pro ll with the universal shell holder is to place the case in the shell holder slightly release the grip, bring the pilot into the neck and let the case be rotated a time or two similar to Dan's sizing method, then lock it. This process seems to result in more accurate and square trimming. I have noticed a reduction in run out sinceI've been doing this.

Bob ~ That process is exactly what I do when trimming with any universal shell holder. It only takes a second and assures alignment before lock-down. Not sure where I learned the technique through the years but it does produce nice square trimming. ~ Larry

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

That sounds a lot like the way I use my ancient Lyman Universal (hand-cranked) trimmer. It's odd that I read this after doing ~250 cases this afternoon ! I don't recall any instruction or anything, it just sort of evolved. Interesting parallel development.

Pooh,Snapshot: I have only had my T.P.ll for a year prior to that I used a Trim Pro collet style I also rotated the cases in that trimmer. Seens as though we're all of a like mind here as there are no such instructions.
