In the '60s it was considered smart to have a bullet point protector installed in the magazine of your rifle, especially the magnums. Are they still available or have you even heard of them. I'd like one for my .300 Winchester. Thanks in advance and probably afterwards as well!

Since no one has commented I will assume that they are no longer used and no longer exist! I can't find them either!

Bob, I actually took a look, just because it rang one of those bells in the back of my noggin. I even took a look at the ruger forum, where I saw your post. I take it those guys didn't come up with anything, either ! Some of these things come and go, and just because they go, it doesn't mean they're a bad idea. If this is a problem for you, do any of the bullets with the plastic nose pieces meet your needs ?

Thanks Pooh and Loafer. Pooh what handle do you use on Ruger? As far as point (meplat for Dan) damage, with Nosler Protected Point Partition or Ballistic Tip I haven't noticed a problem I will have to try Magazine loading Sierras, they have only been loaded singly .

Bob, I also searched on the internet and so far have come up empty handed. I'll give it a go sometime later.

Bob ~ I the RUGER Forum you mentioned sponsored by Ruger? ~ Larry The Ruger forum is NOT sponsored by the Ruger Corporation. It is pretty much an all inclusive firearms forum on the Internets ... with a slant towards the Ruger firearms. You can talk about pretty much anything there. It is pretty civilized there ... to a point. There is NO place as civil as the 2A Munitions website. At least this is my opinion.

GW, that was one of the reasons I looked into it-seems simple at first, except a lot of materials soft enough to cushion the tips would also tend to hang them up.
Bob, I'm not on at the Ruger thingie-I just stumbled into it following a Google lead.

Pooh, That Ruger site can be fun but also a little rougher than "ours" . Also they do have some good information. GW, I can't remember!! When I had it installed I was more in to chasing skirts and hunting with reloading as necessary. In other words as long as it went bang and hit where I aimed I just shot it and cleaned it.

Bob, I took another gander at it today for just better than an hour and still came up empty handed. I just can't seem to find any kind of info about it.
