(Crossposted from Calguns) As some of you know; I grew up on a farm in the Central Valley California. I grew up near the town of Caruthers California Where I come from ... we grew up cherishing what I call the four(4) F's Here they are in order, and why I am thankful... In order of precedence FaithI am very thankful for the Lord and Christ, which by my accounts help make all things possible. FamilyI am thankful that I have a loving family and we continue to grow together in this world. FootballFor me; I grew up with this ... mostly High School football... But, in Redneck Land ... Football is more than an event you go to. It literally helps to personify the 3rd statement in our Declaration of Independence... The pursuit of Happiness! FirearmsNot only did we use these as a way to supplement our table. Firearms to us meant a way of life. The way of preserving the 1st three things that I am thankful for. Firearms for us represent our defense of all things that we hold dear to us. Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. TO ALL MY FRIENDS HERE... May you and your loved ones have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! Ken

Well I’ve already had my round of feasting for Thanksgiving and wish that all those that are about to enjoy their Thanksgiving have a safe and good one.

Amen, getting ready to do our annual Thanksgiving day trap shoot at the farm this morning. Then to deep fry the turkey, eat a bunch and enjoy family and a football game or two. Life is good and so much to be thankful for. The good Lord had blessed us more than we deserve. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It is my honest pleasure to have to go to work in about 2 hours to fly passengers to Corpus Christi so they may be with THEIR friends, family, and loved ones. The company is putting out a spread, so I'm hoping the crew and I can grab some good food in a to-go container before we leave and fellowship with each other in Corpus. We have many things for which to be thankful.....the list is long.
If y'all wouldn't mind though, I'd like to ask everyone to offer up some prayers for my best friend John. He is having open-heart surgery Monday morning for a valve repair. I have faith in our Lord and the doctors that all will go well and that we'll have something to REALLY be thankful for this Christmas and next Thanksgiving.

A great Thanksgiving to all here on 2A!! May God bless each and all your families. May we keep people like erjdriver's good friend John in our prayers. Also keep our men and women that are serving our country in our prayers as well that God keeps them safe and that He blesses their families as well. Ken the four F's that is well stated and I like it very much. Againd God bless you all and enjoy your time with friends and family.

This is going to be a relatively quiet one for me. A son and a daughter, husband and 4 kids are coming this year.......that's a might different from last year. 9 extra adults and 18 grand kids! Was tempted to get out the muffs. Nice change, in spite of missing all the action....gotta let all the in-laws have a turn once in a while, though. Best wishes and prayers for John....been there. And yes many of us Americans have plenty to be thankful for. Hope we think to help those less plush this season. It's cold out there.....in many, many ways.

Hi guys- power was just restored. Everyone safe, and it is possible to do a turkey in a dutch oven. No biggie, but I am also grateful for the heroes of my second childhood- the line guys for PSNH and NH Electric Coop. They do a touch job under dangerous, crappy circumstances. Nice to get back on line. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
