Alliant has a couple newer powders out RL23 and 26. I have yet to find any data any place I have looked. I have yet to find anyone who know what calibers they are suited for. I did drop Alliant an email a couple weeks ago but still have yet to get an answer from them. So have any of you tried them or have any idea what they are suited for?

Natchez has it listed in stock. I am thinking about giving them a try. Picked up a 25-06 and you can never have enough 7RM powder ..............

Don't ask me why but for some reason I decided to run a few test loads today with RL-26. I say that because it was only 2 degrees when I went out with a wind chill of about -17. To say I wasn't thrilled with my results would be an understatement. I don't blame the powder for it not meeting my standards but the weather was brutally bad for shooting. Swirling winds at 25mph gusting to 40mph. I couldn't really even keep the chrono positioned and steady. After 3 strings of 10 I finally gave up will redo those loads during the week and find a better weekend to shoot. I will tell you this much I got very little powder residue out of the barrel for an RL powder. The numbers I did get weren't eyes popping but I did start out at 62.0 and gave up at 62.6. One good thing keeping the barrel cool was not that difficult ....... Will try again when I get some better conditions.

Your a brave man Chuck, trying to shoot today. I ran the snow blower in my parents driveway today & had to stop and go in and warm my aching fingers up before I could finish. You know I think I remember voting for "global warming" but it doesn't seem to be working out yet.

JB even the dog looked at me funny when I went out. He loves being outside normally he is half Akita and Half Norwegian and I had to kick him out to do his business. I guess I am just a glutton for punishment besides I was bored....
