I love the older S&W pistols when it comes to shooting them. Metal in my hand feels better than plastic. The draw back is carrying them all day, they are heavy on the hip but that's where the plastic guns shine. I think the reliability might be slightly better with the plastic guns...maybe.
I bought these 2 several years ago because the price was very low. I intended to clean them up and resell them. Naturally I had to shoot them as well. You can't sell something you haven't shot unless it's new. Right? Well long story short they have a permanent place in my collection. Oh Kat laid claim to the 659 which is awesome cause I like the 5906 better. I did have to replace the extractor on the 659. I actually bought three extractors because it took several months to find new ones an they don't make them anymore. Used ones are available but you never know the extent of wear on them. One other thing, notice there is no tactical rail. Like helmets for bicycles we didn't need them back then.

My daughter came from Missouri, my son and grand son, my wife and I had a nice dinner of grilled "porter house" pork chops, corn on the cobb, my son, G'son and I share 10/5. G'son is 4 minutes early though @ 10/4.
