Well the son-in-law has a new toy for me to help get dialed in. A new AR. He got a Rock River flat top in 6.8 SPC. He has ordered and received bullets to load and we got some H322 and H335 for the test. He is looking at some optics in red dot style sights. We do have a set of iron sights to put on if he can't wait to fire it. Big thing right now is weather very very cold right now and have to wait it out some.

Your not kidding it's cold outside. Your side of the State is going to get hit with this snow storm again isn't it.
Well hopefully spring will come shortly and we can crawl out of our burrows again. I'm ready to play.
Have fun with the new AR.

JB, Yep we will be getting hit with some more snow this weekend and along with it winds to push the wind chills for saturday night down to around 20-30 below ZERO!! I do hope for some relief to get out for the last week of bushies and bunnies.

There are some perks to living in New Mexico once in a while. You guys have all the cold weather. I just got back from the barber this morning. Left the house at 10, sunny blue skys, no wind, no coat........but there's still things to keep me from going to the range to shoot! I have to write and publish a gun club newsletter today, get a sunday school lesson (my turn comes around once a month), start a plastic model build with my grand son, and deal with hayfever.....all freakin ready. February....hayfever....give me a break. Almost, I'd like to trade places weather-wise........ Almost. I also have a new (4 months old maybe?) AR to wring out.......I only got to take it out once on a cold day in November.....nuts.......I need to retire from everything except my wife and grand kids. Then maybe I'd have time to reload and shoot like I want. Hacker......great you have an enlightened son-in-law. Mine have zero interest in shooting for recreation.....I'm determined to see that their children don't follow in those footsteps.

GWS, Yes the son-in-law is enlightened. He right now is pouting because we can't go to the range and also get out for the last of bushies and bunnies. His kids and my other grandson like to shoot also. My oldest granddaughter (10yrs old) beats her mom at the 7 yard combat line with my J-frame 38 and my little 9mm. She also is two belts away from her Jr. Black Belt!!! I feel for ya on the hay fever. I get mine in Mid Aug. and it can wreck havoc with me being asthmatic. Also looks like a 1911 in 45 ACP is on the list to play with.
