I am looking to trade up a #8 keg of this for some powders I am no longer using that I have on hand. I am looking for some first hand information. I tried it once a few years ago in my 7-08 with heavy bullets and didn't go beyond some basic load work up and traded it off. I want to try this powder in 243 with 95 and 100gr Nos Partitions (my sisters rifle), 25-06 with 117 Sierra PH & GK's plus 120 Speer BTSP's (my rifle), 270 with 140 Nos Partition (wife for an elk trip) and 7RM with 160 Sierra GK (step son's rifle same trip as wife). Looking for the good and the bad you have experienced with this powder.

Chuck, I have been using it since it first came out and am really happy with it in the .257 Rob'ts.with 115 to 129 gr. bullets, way above published results. I tried it once in my .243 with 100 gr. bullets and got very poor results,I called Hodgdon about this, their answer was it was the rifle even after I explained that I was getting slightly above published results with H4831. I am going to try again. I didn't try my 7X57mm as their results were lower than my H 414 with 140 gr. bullets. It does look promising though for several others I already have good loads for however one of these days now that powder seems to be available I may experiment some.

Thanks Bob had a good friend tell me the same thing about the 243 with this powder so I might just skip that one and use the RL23 or 26 I have for it.

I quite frankly never thought of RL 22 for the .243, it makes sense though. Heavy for caliber and large case for caliber gonna have to try it! The barrel on my M 70 Feather weight maybe too short though at 22".

I got to thinking about barrel length also Bob my sister's 243 only has a 20" tube. I would love to have some RL22 to try in that little booger. Either way I have enough other loading projects going on right now. I traded up the keg for 3lbs or RL19, 2lbs of RL17 and 3lbs of 4000MR. I don't know exactly how much I will get to do with this before later on in the summer.

Well I hear you about other projects, I already have a good load for the .243 now I have a .325WSM to work up plus the .45 Colt and the .45ACP. I also have some work around the house and at the ranch.
