Been wanting a Ruger #1B in .22 Hornet for some time now but they have been going for too much money. Saturday night just for the heck of it I checked Gun Broker just as I was going to bed, well up jumped the devil and low and behold there it was and in a buy it now mode with a decent price I tried desperately to keep my finger off the buy it button but I lost the battle.

You're not alone with the problem, Bob. Seems that this "condition" has been effecting a lot of us lately. Remember; one does not cure I.F.P.S. one treats it. It is something we must learn to live with.

I don't know whether this can be classified as impulsive as it has been an infection (Infectious Firearm Purchasing Syndrome) that has festered for some time. Seems as though I am one gun short of the cure! Load development will be fun as I already have a Ruger M77 .22 Hornet this will be an interesting comparison. SanpShot I hope you don't mind my plagiarizing it only applies to this purchase. My.325 WSM purchase was truly impulsive but with no regrets.

Bob, I thought your last purchase was a scope that happen to have a Browning X Bolt in 325 WSM attached to it.

It was Gary, but then I bought a Winchester Model 70 .325 'cause I didn't like the Browning but I do like the cartridge and ultimately I ended up with 390 rounds of ammo. I gave the Browning to a friend who had done me some favors. I love the way the Winchester shoots, mild recoil and accurate, with factory ammo 25 rounds in to a loose 1" square. Showing my age, told the story in the .325WSM thread.

Point well taken Bob. Maybe it should be labeled Infectious Impulsive Firearm Purchasing Syndrome (IIFPS). After all, we do seem to catch it from each other . . . especially at Gun Shows etc.

Face it Bob ... You are screwed. Now you gotta buy all the reloading dies, projectiles and all the other stuff. And ... and after all of this ... and many trips to the range ... Another one pops up on GB ... and ... You gotta have it!
Welcome to the club Bob.
Heh!

I have been in the club nearly that long as well. Fortunately this time I already had the Hornet dies and components, not so with the .325 though.

Well I finally held the Hornet and it is beautiful, worth the wait. Now comes the 10 day wait during which time I will begin loading a few for load development.

Bob, I hope you realize that we're all much safer because you have to wait ten days. No telling what sort of havoc you might raise if you got it immediately. (Well, maybe there are small critters who are getting a reprieve !)

Pooh': I would really like to have fun with your comment however we never know who is reading these posts. I am so used to the wait and so old that the time flies, also I have enough other "projects" to keep me occupied. I still don't like it and it will probably go away at the end of the year as the U.S. Supreme Court (may have been a lower court) struck the wait period down.
