PH in Zimbabwe got crunched by an elephant while scouting for lion. Good object lesson to keep your eyes open. (Of course, here in New Hampshire, the critters pretty much want to get away from you, unless you've cornered them or their offspring, or they're rabid.)

All I can say is WOW!!! According to the article he shot the elephant from 10 yards with a .458 rifle. You would think it would have drop the animal and he had a follow up shot ready. Yes I agree Pooh one needs 360 vision when out hunting as one never knows what one will encounter.

Big fan of the 7mm-08 Rem.
