Haven't been on in a while. I'm getting all my parts together to make up my 6.5-06 trying to figure out what would be the best bullet weight to run in 1 and 8 twist 26 inch Shilen. I been thinking 130-140 Nosler or Sierra this is going to be a multi purpose rifle paper, varment, and deer.

savage: Given your 8" twist I think your weight choices are good with the edge going to the 140s. I like both Nosler and Sierra bullets, I have killed a lot of deer with both. For varmints I would try some lighter bullet especially the monolithic type as they tend to be longer per given weight. Good Luck, Have fun,and Be SAFE !

Well I've been off for a long while but here's a up date on the 6.5-06 project Interarms Mark X mauser action 26" Er Shaw semi varmin contour 1-9 twist. Hopefully I'll be working loads up in the next few months for deer season
