We cannot sit around and cry in our soup. Each of us must get off the couch and make a difference. We are the Ambassadors for our sports.
Last weekend I helped at a Boy Scout Shotgun merit badge program. This weekend I am doing Muzzleloader demonstrations at Jakes Day. I teach at least six Hunter Education classes per year. I challenge everyone to take a kid to the range, and do it soon! In just a couple years, that kid will be able to VOTE.
We lost our cake one bite at a time. We can take it back the same way.

I also teach Hunter Ed and have taken several young men and women (all under 22) to get their first deer or pheasant assisted in the duck blind(calling and calling the shot) as well as taking a 24 yr. old Nepalese woman shooting for the first and second time in her life. I'm with you Mule as is our friend 7th and I believe Pooh.
The only issue I have is which pro-gun organization to support, and how to support the others without getting bombarded with requests for money. I have chosen N.R.A. and C.R.P.A as well as cross-interests D.U, R.M.E.F.,California Waterfowl, and California Deer to support with financial aid but there is a limit to my bank account. Any additions or suggestions will be appreciated.

In the USA there are 300 million guns in civilian hands. There are an estimated 100 million gun owners. We are a force to be reckoned with.
Don't sit idly and take their crap. Email and snail mail your representatives. Let them know, politely, how you feel. If you are not registered to vote, shame on you. Change that situation.
When someone takes me to task about gun ownership, I smile and say, "When seconds count, the police are only minutes away" When they rebut that, I say again, "When seconds count, the police are only minutes away" They usually move on after that.
When someone says I don't need a gun. I respond "This is America. It's not about what you need. It's about what you want. I want a gun"

The NRA Mentor Program is good and don't forget to support The Friends of the NRA in our local areas.
My wife got six ladies from her business group to take a basic handgun course with her and I know three of them joined the NRA and two of them have purchased handguns.
There are a lot of ways to promote our sport.

My daughter came from Missouri, my son and grand son, my wife and I had a nice dinner of grilled "porter house" pork chops, corn on the cobb, my son, G'son and I share 10/5. G'son is 4 minutes early though @ 10/4.
