Idea / Suggestion for an extra thread.
Might it be an idea to add an extra thread for politics, laws and other “frustrations” that we encounter and wish/like to share it here at “2 A Munitions” forum?
We all regularly encounter political BS and get confronted with new laws or local harassments that are guns, gun ownership, hunting related and so on. You name it.....
Before at the RCBS hub we shared it at the “General” section, we could continue to do so here at the “General Board” or set up an additional thread. We could name it “Politics and laws TALK” or what ever a good title we can think of.
This so, to keep the “General board” clean for everything else and to keep the forum clean, organized and civilized. I have seen this kind of set up at many other forums. Or if topics deviate from the original subject to political matters people are asked to stick to the original subject and continue to “debate” on an other “designated” thread. It works pretty good I must say.
For instance I started here a topic about what Google does in my country at the “General Board”..... It just came to me that such topics should better have a own designated thread.
It’s just an idea/suggestion, I don’t know how the rest of you gentleman think of it?
PJ.

I know that there are several of us that do a lot of work with women and kids, I myself have got a lot of good things for my 4-H shooting sports club and would be glad to pass info on about inside deals and such, so how about a thread like: Supporting our sport?

Agreed and Done! Any other suggestions? I personally used the "reloading calculator" frequently form the old site, is there a way to import that over here as well without any copyright infringements ETC?

If we had our own .com or .net we probably could as it would be require the calculator to be uploaded to a directory then linked to a page. This is something we just don't have access to on a free site such as this. I do own a .com and have been working on converting it. It is requiring allot of expertise that I don't have but I've been reading the how to and trying to work with hosting support. The biggest draw back is the expense. I have the ability to setup a forum pretty much like this one one my .com however the functionality wouldn't be anymore than we have now as it is a simple template based phpBB forum like this one. Right now I just don't have the means to build one like the hub, that is without some expert design assistance but I'm working on it.

I have reloaded for quite a while but would have to say that my knowledge and experience lacks in many areas dealing with reloading, firearms etc. It would be nice to have a thread to show acronym's for all this great information that is posted on what I think is a great web site. Similar to the post that shows business to locate/purchase supplies etc.

Dan I have been thinking on this for some time now and throw this out as a suggestion. Quite often people include links on their threads. Most of the time if I find the link useful, I add it to my book marks, but a lot of times I don't find a need at the time and don't add it, then find a need later and end up at a later date having to search through a myriad of old threads trying to find the one I want. With that being said I would like to suggest that section be added for a consolidated section for useful links. such as how to videos on things like your instruction videos , Gun disassembly and assembly and parts breakdown by make and model, also useful Calculators, like Bullet Cost and Ballistics Etc. I think a section like that would be useful to experienced and the novice.

I was wondering about the guest section and have a question. Is there a way to allow a guest, to view all the forum's sections, on a limited time basses, say 14 days and after that period they must register to continue or be blocked. This would allow them to see what the forum offers. and I think would encourage more new members. I ask this because looking at the member list it is formulated of mostly ex,Hub members and not new ones.

Karl, I don't know about a time limit but like the old Hub and other forums that let you take a look see but you can't post unless you log in or register.

Hey guys. I made some changes to the permissions. Everyone can now view everything but only registered members can post or reply. If that doesn't bump the membership up after a while say maybe a month then I might change it back.
