I haven't really added any content lately to this equipment section, so I thought it may be time to reveal what RCBS has been up to lately! A lot!
Most are aware by now of the two new Progressive presses, the Pro Chucker 5 and Pro Chucker 7, but I doubt many are aware that the venerable Uniflow powder measure has been updated to compliment these presses!
But that's not all......these new Quick Change Uniflows, as they are called, also offer improvements for the conventional turret and single station loader as well.
In a nut shell.......features:
1. No longer are big and small cylinders needed for corresponding big and small metering screws. The Q.C. uses a single cylinder that fits both small and large metering screws......
2. The new metering screws......you set once and forget.....they just push in and lock in place. RCBS designed this so you can buy separate metering screws for each load, $10 (at Midway) for large cavity, $15 for small cavity screws. The new system no longer fits the older expensive mic metering screws. Rather than looking up a mic setting....or even having two P. measures (with each sized cylinder and expensive mic screws) you only have to snap in a preset metering screw in ONE powder measure.
3. The new Q.C. comes with a push-lock powder drain too.....replace a metering screw with that and quickly empty your powder measure without having to remove or take apart the P.M. from the stand or press.
4. The Quick Change Uniflow comes with a much bigger 1 lb powder hopper! .....finally! (excepting the one that comes with the Pro Chucker 5 press...it still has the small hopper
)
5. The best part is that You can upgrade any Uniflow to Quick Change just by buying a Q.C. cylinder, 1 or 2 metering screws, and a powder drain separately from Midway USA. (however, as of yet, the oversized hoppers can be had only from RCBS Parts.....so far. (Don't know price & availability).
6. Also available is a High Capacity Quick Change Uniflow....a high capacity metering screw....and an even higher capacity (2# powder!) hopper.

My daughter came from Missouri, my son and grand son, my wife and I had a nice dinner of grilled "porter house" pork chops, corn on the cobb, my son, G'son and I share 10/5. G'son is 4 minutes early though @ 10/4.
