Yep today my oldest daughter and the son-in-law and few of the kids went to the range this afternoon. Oh and yes it was LEAD that I sent down range from my Rem 700BDL in 7mm08 Rem. I finally shot my cast bullet loads today. I mean finally since it has been quite a while since I loaded them up. They were loaded back on 07-04-1998!!!!! and they shot just fine and for the load grouped quite well. These bullets were bought from a cast manufacturer here in my state. The bullet is from a RCBS mold #7mm-145-SIL. They came lubed with gas check in place. I did put extra lube on since I have and use Lee Liquid Alox so I tumbled 50 pieces to load. It was Rem brass CCI250 mag primers and W760 powder. I shot all 50 on target letting the barrel cool down every 5-10 shots. I did not see any leading at the muzzle even after the 50th shot. I shot at the 100 yard mark and did not adjust the scope. I aimed for center and they all grouped down three and to the right. If I had to hunt with this load I would not hesitate to use it. Since these shot well for a cast load I am eager to try some cast in my single shot 30/30. Except for a few flyers for the load I think shot decent.

Thanks Bob. I have some more of those cast bullets on hand think I'll load some more. I just might hunt with that load keeping it at 100 yard and less. I believe it should drop a deer with no problem.

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Hacker, it looks like you have a state rep who provides targets. Works for me !

Pooh, Yes she helps with the targets and her fellow Rep from the adjacent district does like wise. They both help sponsor a NRA handgun safety course every year for the past three to four years now. She is one very nice lady and very pro Second Amendment also.

Nice shooting Hacker. I also have some targets that Kathy Rapp has put her name on as well.
