Ok Greg since it isn't my fault I have to blame someone and since you planted the seed for another 7RM it falls on you. I swapped out a Savage 116 in 300WM with a Nikon Pro Staff 5 3.5x14x40 for you guessed it another 7RM. The latest 7RM is a Winchester Mod 70 Ultimate Shadow SS and rings. So yes Greg the 7 bore allure got to me faster than I thought it would. Will be mounting a Vortex Diamond HP 4x16x42 on it later. I couldn't pass up the trade the rifle has less than 50 rounds all factory shot through it the guy just didn't like a 7 bore his loss.

Ha! Don't blame me, chalk it up to mental illness!! Heck, I don't even own one.......but you can donate it to me if you come to your senses and decide that I need one more than you...... Now I'm going to post something I found that make make me think I may finally fall in love with my new AR!

Well Chuck that was very quick. You passing on a 7RM would make the world come to a stand still. Ya just have to face the facts that you are a 7 Bore Junky.

Now Greg I have letters from 3 doctors that state I have now mental illness or defect. So this had to be the seed you planted or maybe the lights in the dark made me do it.....
Gary that is true me passing a 7 bore would be like Homer Simpson passing up a pink frosted doughnut............

Chuck I've been thinking about that Vortex 4-16X42 that you mentioned but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. What is your opinion on them?

Chuck I've been thinking about that Vortex 4-16X42 that you mentioned but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. What is your opinion on them? JB I actually have 3 of them now and I like them pretty well. They are as clear or clearer than the Nikon scopes I have been using for years, fog and shock proof, they track very well and thus far I have had zero issues with them. The one minor draw back is I have to get use to a different BDC reticle but that's nothing. As I need new glass or have to replace glass I will continue to buy them.

Chuck,
Cabelas has the 4-16x42 with the v-plex reticle on sale now for $249. I'm wondering if they are going to discontinue this model.

JB the Diamondback HP is a fairly new model so I doubt it will be discontinued any time soon. I know the original Crossfire scope is discontinued as the Crossfire II replace it. That said I know their was talk about discontinuing the original Diamondback but thus far they haven't. For a value priced scope I don't think you can go wrong with either the Crossfire II or either of the Diamondback models.

I might have to order it tonight. I've been saving my nickels to get a Leopold but I doubt that will happen. Thanks for the info.

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Hi,JB--I just took a quick look at the line on Midway. Prices seemed to be in the ballpark, and a lot of the line was listed as having free shipping. I, for one, am quite fond of "free".

Well now it's Chuck's Fault. Just placed an order for the 4-16x42 Vortex. Maybe I can tighten up my groups if I can see better.

JB I will take the blame no worries with all the therapy I have done I have strong shoulders LOL. You will not be disappointed at all with your purchase. As much as I like Nikon the Pro Staff 5 and the Buck Master II just don't quite live up to the Nikon's I am use to. That's why I have gone to the Vortex scope after looking at a ton of other glass.
