Ok so since yesterday was a very busy stressful day at work I went shooting last night with a specific goal. I took my 06 out to see if I could get the barrel fouled on purpose. I did not clean it after my last session 35rds. I also loaded a couple different bullets that in the past have always left a lot of copper behind and I used a ball powder W760 because I think they normally burn dirtier than stick powder do. This is what I has 25rds of 165gr SPR BTSP and 25rds of 165gr NOS BT over 53.0gr of W760 with CCI 250 primers. It took me about 2.5hrs to shoot all these rounds as I didn't want to overheat the barrel this was a test not abuse. Long story short it only took 9 patches to get a nice clean white patch this morning. I know that custom lapped barrels are easy to clean but for a factory barrel which most times when new hold fouling this to me is amazing. So I have to ask have any of you ever ran into this with a new factory barrel?

Replenish my memory.....the memorable part is that you bought a .30-06. I assume you bought it new then? I thought it was a trade. Also what brand and model?

GWS I bought I traded for a 7RM. The rifle is a Winchester XPR its a clone of the Browning AB3 since Browning and Winchester partnered up on them.

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Ok, so what solvent did you use for the nine patch miracle ? Sounds like you lucked into a great barrel !

Wipe Out Patch Out and the Accelerator. I really have never seen a barrel clean this easily custom or factory.
