Ok so I have gone from a fan of this rifle to an on the fence owner. I found out through an email with Win/Browning service and repair in Missouri that even after waiting nearly 2 months my rifle will be in their hands a while longer. It seems that the safety doesn't always work properly and the rifle can discharge just by releasing the safety. Now to add to this issue my rifle is one of the first they have received for this issue and the service center still doesn't know how they are to fix the issue. According to the Browning service center the Winchester division failed to notify the Browning division of the issue till the first few rifles showed up. So once again the wait begins all over again. But on the plus side I don't really need the rifle for deer season but it would have been nice.

Boy that just blows. Another reason why it scares me to buy newly manufactured items. My son-in law just bought a Savage 93 in 22 WMR then he got me one. so since we have had them just about two weeks and he has mag issues with his. The rounds sometimes fly out of the mag when inserting into the rifle. So far mine has not done this yet. Did a review search on the web and found that the mag issue is something to look out for. So far with the open sights they shoot OK but we will be mounting scopes on them this week to see how well they perform.

YUP Bob I am a sucker for the new that's for sure. That said I normally never buy the new right after release to try to avoid this kinda stuff but with this being with the exception of the safety a clone of the AB3 I figured what the hell.

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Back in the days of DOS, I was advised never to buy version 1.0 of anything. It holds true well beyond computer stuff.

Well Chuck, somebody has to try out the new stuff or we'll never get to version 1.01.

Ha I called and raised 3 kinda hell this morning over this will it do me any good more than likely not but Winchester heard what I had to say. The fellow I talked to didn't seem all that surprised by an irate customer either. My guess is they are catching all kinds of hell over this. From what I have been told they knew about the issue back in June and didn't issue the recall order till last week. That is what has me more pissed than anything else.

I worked late as usual yesterday and when I got home I found my rifle sitting on the kitchen table along with the Winchester Recall notice. Now I was assured by Browning's service center that since they had the rifle I would not get it back till the recall work was performed. As of now I have to wait and see if they reply to my email or if I have to call Arnold Mo this morning. I am thinking that maybe someone didn't follow through on this one.
