Chuck, That would be very special indeed. I also put family above other things. The only thing that I miss on Thanksgiving day is going to my in laws as both have passed on. That day my father-in-law and my two brothers-in-law and myself would go out and do some small game hunting and if time permitted we would shoot our rifles on dad's 100 yard range. That I miss but I have my own kids and their kids to have an enjoyable day with that I would not give up for anything.

Gee Chuck can I be your son? Truthfully though your holiday time with children is time to be cherished I know I do when my daughter and son in law come out from Missouri for Christmas. The three of us do get a day or two of bird hunting though which brings us closer.

One thing I like about you Chuck.......you got your priorities in order. Family is ALWAYS #1. Make this Thanksgiving a happy memory for ever...for you...and especially for the kids. You will find that years from now the kids won't be thinking about the guns you bought them....they'll be thinking about the positive time you spent with them. Make it count!

Guys last week was the best week I have had in a very, very, very, long time. Picked the kids up on the 20th a day earlier than they thought I was coming after them. I kept them till yesterday the 29th. Hated to take them home but I had to. While they we in they both took their first deer. Both of them shot does on landowner tags from the same stand on the same sit. My daughter used a borrowed 243 Savage Edge Muddy Girl since her Weatherby didn't arrive in time. The boy insisted on using an old single shot H&R 243 for some reason. It was just great to see them both enjoy their week even more than I did. The kicker to them taking their first deer is they were both taken on my B-DAY. I have arranged for them to come back over their Christmas break and I really can not wait that to see them again. LIFE IS GRAND FOR ME RIGHT NOW FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chuck, Awesome indeed my friend. Oh don't belittle the guy for using a single shot I have one in 30/30. This is the second one that I have. I have taken deer with that old one and the new one went with me today for the first day of the rifle season and will use it when going by myself but I will get the 700 BDL in 7-08 out sometime this season as well.

Gary I wasn't belittling him I was actually quite proud he chose to make his first ever real week of hunting more challenging by using the old single shot.
