IMR is getting ready to start shipping yet another new powder 4955. This powder falls between 4551 and 7977 according to IMR and yes I already have feelers and notifications set up at all my normal haunts. Since I like the Enduron line well enough as it is I will have to try this one when it finally hits the market. Right now I am using a fair amount of 7977 and have some work to do with 4166 and 4551 in the 308, 7-08 and 30-06 so as time goes on I am thinking these will get used more and more.

Bob 4166 looks like a made over version of 4064 but it actually gives me performance closer to 4230, 4551 is actually just a remade 4350 closer to Hodgdon than IMR if you ask me, 7977 looks and performs to me like Retumbo but it is supposed to be a remake of 7828. Now this 4955 is looking like a remake of 4831 if you look at the numbers on the Hodgdon reload site. Time will tell as I will have to try this powder out too.

Much to the wife's displeasure I just ordered this powder from Mid South and since I only have half a #8 of 7977 I just doubled up and ordered a # 8 of both LOL. She was not very happy with me this afternoon. I think she means to take my card away and put me on an allowance. I told her that I bought myself a Christmas present but she didn't buy that. What she didn't see was the receipt for the Savage 10/110 Predator in 260 Rem she has been asking for so I might get to keep my card after all.

This does not go along with my abbreviated powder supply habits......my head hurts when I think about it.....dang, maybe I AM getting too old for this game.
