Our neighborhood was under siege Thursday and Friday. Eight people including a teacher and her class were terrorized by a wild animal, and no it wasn't a lion, bear, or coyote. The animal causing this terror was a Gray Tree squirrel (some of you call them tree rats). The squirrel apparently had been hand fed buy someone and when people didn't offer food it attacked injuring the eight people in separate attacks. If only we could defend ourselves this wouldn't have happened! This is a true story!

Was this one of those refugee squirrels that got in undetected?

Eight people might now have to submit to painful rabies shots. That being the case, I believe there is ample justification in terminating the little critter so it can be checked.
I think I have just the tool needed. I have been playing around with a "mouse fart" load for my 45/70 Trapdoor. A 405 grain cast bullet over 3 grains of Promo. Velocity is unknown but 25 yard groups are cloverleaf.

Mule, is that considered a safe load for dangerous game? Gary, no unfortunately he was native, probably saw too much internet promoting terror.

Bob when I was in JR high their was a grey squirrel that some of us would hand feed. Well a younger less reasoning me decided to try and grab the squirrel and break its neck. Well it didn't go all that well because after the tetanus shots and a couple stitches my dad blistered my behind LOL and that is a true story as well.

Older and wiser now huh! To all, I think an individual used a 3,000# projectile with a velocity of about 45 fps to neutralize the threat!

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Many square feet of asphalt are adorned with the remains of indecisive squirrels.

Don't know what a wrist rocket is? Picture below: They work great against skunk too (at a distance)!
