So after some long hard thought I have decided to make some changes this year. The biggest being I am going to take a different position at work. It's part time 15 days a month all on the road which is fine by me as I will be setting my own schedule. I am going to streamline my powder supply as well as my primer supply. I am going to replace all my used brass with when I can either Norma or Lapua. Bullets are going to be either Speer or Sierra. I am going to get rid of some excess reloading equipment I have a couple Rock Chuckers, a Lee Classic and RCBS dies with the exception of my collet neck dies.

Sounds like a great plan Chuck.
I too am going to try to work a reduced schedule this year, this past year has been a killer. I haven't had enough time for hunting this fall/winter and was only able to deer hunt for 5 days, I was successful though.
On the other hand I going to try to clutter my reloading with another rifle and different bullets.

I am going to clean up the clutter on my bench so that it looks like one of those pristine settings in a reloading catalog. (Maybe I should save that statement for April 1st...)

I’m a little reluctant to list all the changes and improvements I plan to make. This way there is no written record and I won’t feel so bad when I don’t accomplish all of them.

Well I have some things that I would like to get done. I need to go over my reloading area and my little workshop and reorganize. I seem to do this every so often as I get bored and need something to do. One thing is to take apart a shell plate carrier and rebuild it to another caliber for my Lee Pro1000.

Plan? Really? Does that work for some people? I can't even plan to retire. It'll probably happen when I have another heart attack or worse. I would love to plan to shoot more, reload more, and play more.........sigh..... Ah shucks, that's just me welcoming the new year........I'll be over it in a few days. I would like to even "dream" of retiring. Last nite I had one of my typical STUPID dreams.....I dug a grave for somebody I didn't know IN the chapel of my church..... then I spent the rest of the night picking up some else's trash and loading it into my pickup.....didn't know them either..........prelude to insanity I think. I was too tired to go to work this morning!!! Okay, I need a plan......lets see, buy a new gun (of course! that always perks me up).....and just screw it and take a day off to try out...for the first time...my brand new CED Millenium 2 chonograph that I got for Christmas....12.5 months ago! I know. Then actually take up reloading again.....last 6 months....zero. Yeah that's serious! ........and get a better attitude.

I know the feeling. I belong to a duck club and haven't been duck hunting yet there's less than three weeks left and it doesn't look good. I was able to go deer hunting twice 3 day weekends. Have my new dog and work some each day with him and am going to try to take him to a pheasant club for an afternoon.
No crazy dreams though!

Must be nice bob, I HATE stupid dreams that last all night! I can wake up and hit the john, and go back to sleep, and danged if they don't resume where they left off. Hey! I just thought of a change I'm going to make! My gun club is holding another semi-annual community gun show the last weekend of January! I usually work them.....This month I'm going to just GO (somebody else s turn to work).....and I'm going to set aside some cash, spend hours looking, and, and actually BUY something!
That my friends will be a first for me.

Greg, Now see that plan wasn't to hard to make. Let us know how you make out at your club's show.

Greg, one of the hardest things for me to do is schedule down time. (I have trouble letting go.) We all need it or become less efficient. Have fun at the gun show !

Ok so I have my powders figured out I plan to keep H380, H414 or W760, IMR 4064, 4166, 4320, 4350, 4551 4831 7977 and RL25. All other powder will either be burnt just messing around anything un-open will become trade bait. I think those 10 will serve me well they cover me from 22-250 up to 338 Fed nicely.

Still too many I'd dump IMR4064 for sure..... (of course I don't shoot those big magnums either)

GWS I don't use 4064 in anything magnum It is a handy powder and can be used in 22-250, 243, 7-08, 308, 338 Fed just to name a few I have.

I know it's a popular powder, but the grains are huge....it measures out of a powder measure worse than just about anything, and its one of the easiest powders to find a pressure spike when you're not looking. I prefer its not so hot-headed brothers, IMR 4350 and 4895....and for little guys like .223 I've been impressed with TAC.....that said, I'll repeat....its always been one of the most popular powders, just not with me.

Greg 4064 is just a powder I have never had issues with not saying that pressure spike won't occur just I have never seen one. As for the kernel size I DO NOT USE A POWDER MEASURE all that often. I have gone to smaller batches say a box maybe a box and a half at a session. If kernel size is an issue and I want similar performance I can always go 4320, 4166, 414/760 or 4350. I don't get all to concerned with kernel size now after next year that may well change as I will have more time on my hands and will more than likely use my RCBS powder dispenser more often.
