Some of you may remember back in October I got a young Lab,about 10 months old, well today I finally got a chance to try him on Pheasants. He was started as a duck dog and had no field work, well He found 7 birds and retrieved 5,I missed 2,. This goof ball is a wonderful animal and is only going to get better. I had FUN!!

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Bob, that sounds great. Here's to many more days in the field with the pup.

Bob ~ Your comment of missing two reminds me of the story of the dog who went home on his own halfway through the hunt. Seems he felt that if the hunter wasn’t going to shoot them then he wasn’t going to flush them. A good dog is a wonderful thing, have fun and enjoy. ~ Larry (SnapShot)

Larry, fortunately the missed bird weren't consecutive otherwise I might have left before he got the chance!
Pooh, I'll drink to that!
