Well last evening 3-31-16 I was at a seminar that covered concealed carry for here in my state of PA. It was sponsored by my State Rep for my voting district. At this seminar was the DA from my country and the DA from a neighboring county also the Sheriff's from my county and the neighboring county. We also had a State Trooper and Pa Game Commission Officer. The district attorneys went over the laws covering concealed carry. The Game Officer and the State Trooper went over how to interact with each if you are stopped by them. The county sheriffs went over the application process. The DA's also went over reciprocity with other states. The heart of the seminar and where most of the question and answer time was with our Castle Doctrine and the use of deadly force. I will say this was a very informing seminar and they plan on having several more. As for the seminar that I attended it was a packed house with men and women seeking info.

Gary ~ Glad you had the chance to attend the meeting. I watch for these type meetings where state and local officials are available. I hold a CCW and 5 nonresident CCW's and keeping up with all the laws and regulations is an ongoing task. I'd recommend to any one interested or thinking about CCW permits that they attend every meeting of this nature possible. It's great that your local authorities are able to hold such informational meeting. ~ Larry

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Larry's right- your local officials are to be commended for providing that type of session. In addition to guys like you and Larry, who go out of their way to get the straight scoop, there are unfortunately a lot of folks who think they know what they're doing because they watched Hill Street Blues. The misconceptions about "stand your ground" alone are awful ! BTW, happy Saturday, everyone !

Smart local officials. Crooks don't attend, only people who might have their back someday. The guy who did my conceal carry course has a sheriff's officer as his partner. Our local gun club has one of the local community police chiefs on our club's board. Nice living in a pro-gun state.

Yes I indeed do have a very pro 2A state rep she is a very knowledgeable lady. This rep has a few more of these planned through the year and also I memory serves me two NRA handgun safety classes this year and they are booked solid but spots do happen as someone may have to cancel and that opens a spot. I took one of these last year.
