Hi- Last week, the current issue (#302) came in the mail. It celebrated the 50th anniversary of Handloader. As part of the observance, they reprinted the first issue, in its entirety. In effect, this is a double issue. If you don't subscribe, you might want to check the magazine racks. I had a lot of fun with it.

Looking forward to it! I got the first issue, didn't think to keep it though, and don't remember anything in it.

I had the first few years (original issues) in storage in a garage. A few years ago there was water damage that went unnoticed and they were all ruined The original few years were printed on very high quality paper. There were some very old reloading manuals lost in the same event.

There were some very old reloading manuals lost in the same event. It's a real shame to lose the old data--especially when you scrounge old powder. Some stuff just doesn't get republished-the old, light cast bullet loads you saw in earlier versions of the Lyman Handbooks are going the way of the dodo. (I think I spelled that right...)

Finally got Handloader the other day, Saturday I think, it brought back memories. Jack O'Conner,by foot note, P.O.Ackley, Dondalson and so on. some very interesting article from the past.
I've also been browsing through a 1966 Gun Digest for about the 50th time and was looking at the wildcat section which spoke about the .25'06 and the 7mm-308 as well as some others.
History is fun if you were alive to participate, I had been loading for about 4 years by then, (9mm, .357, .243, and 7mm Remington mag.)
