Well I was wondering about this myself. I know that they always put out all kind of stuff about the .44 Rem. mag and we see quite a lot of makers of firearms for the 44 but what about the 41? I would like to get a 41 as this round would be better for me as I even though being 6'4" and around 260lb. I am not big boned. My wrist are small for a guy my size. So the 41 would be a better fit. Ruger and S&W make handguns in this caliber and Henry make a lever rifle in the 41. There might be a couple of others out there. The article states others but may not offer them currently. Hers is the link. I found it enjoyable to read. www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2016/5/3/finding-the-forgotten-41-rem-mag-cartridge/

Well it better still be around! I have the S&W model 57 in 6" I also have a model 29 8-3/8" and find the recoil very similar depending on bullet weight.
The recoil from similar bullet weights actually gives the edge to the .44 as it is a heavier gun however even with arthritis in both wrists I enjoy shooting both and with 240 gr. bullets.
Get one and enjoy it, for hunting I recommend
the 8-3/8 " version.

Bob, I prefer the 6" in a revolver for where I hunt. I am also used to hunting with the 6" as I hunt small game with a 6" 22lr and did hunt with a 6" 357 mag.

I've always been interested in the .41 Magnum, but never had the cash and opportunity at the same time ! Still very much with us, and I believe a friend of mine is ordering a Blackhawk of some variety in that caliber today.

Pooh, Same problem I have and that is cash or lack thereof. Saw a used S&W Mod 57 with a 6" tube awhile back for $800 and it was in very very nice condition. I just wiped the tears away and left the shop.

I never wanted the .44 as I'd shot S.F.P.D.'s .41s at my private range in S.F. and really liked that cartridge. I already had a .357 and was slightly power hungry,a friend new of this and offered the .44 instead of a .41 I tried it and, to my surprise, liked it a lot. Now I enjoy both.

Thanks Merdoc, I have some Starline brass in .45 Colt and like it very much, with Winchester brass very hard to get this will be my choice now.

A box of 9mm Largo brass arrived yesterday, made by Starline. Although I had always been a believer, this stuff was easy to process-I deburr and uniform flash holes, chamfer mouths inside and out and then full length resize. I removed almost no material in the process. This brass is almost too nice to shoot.
You'll recall I have that batch of .357 Midway brass (made by Starline) that I load annually-this stuff may last as well ! Nice to know *something* in America hasn't gone south !
